The Montaña Sagrada Nature Reserve is located in the community of San José de la Montaña, 9km east of Sucre de Ciudad Quesada, San Carlos; At the foot of the Juan Castro Blanco National Park.
The Montaña Sagrada Nature Reserve has great natural attractions; the main one is "Pozo Verde", a volcanic lagoon with beautiful iridescent tones, in addition to exuberant areas of cloud forest, diversity flora and fauna, important watersources, trails with access for the whole family, parking lot and fresh air.
You will have the opportunity to observe a large number of birds, currently 144 species are reported, including the quetzal and the Goldfinch. You will also be able tosee some mammals; and at the end of this path you will enjoy the impressive landscape “Pozo Verde” has, the main attraction of the reserve. Please note that this tour involves hikes through mountainous terrain.
